Masked gunmen have left a Pine, St Michael family living in fear.
Eyewitnesses said at least four masked men opened fire at two homes in Stratford Hill on Thursday night. A resident of one of the homes, a mother of six who requested anonymity, said she was ready to leave the area as neither she nor her children felt safe.
“It has affected me tremendously. All now I’m still shaking and thinking about how helpless I was and how I could have lost my children. I don’t feel safe here anymore, I called [Member of Parliament] Santia Bradshaw to ask to be transferred to a new house,” she said.
While no one was hurt, the woman said she could not stop thinking about how she could have lost her children.
“Barbados has become too violent in general. The Pine had cooled off but I don’t know what is happening now. They need to get these guns off the streets somehow,” she said.
