A fire destroyed the Diamond Bar on Nelson Street this morning.

Providing an update on the incident, Station Officer Roger Bourne stated that, given the nature of the area, three water tenders were dispatched—one each from Bridgetown, Port, and Worthing Fire Stations.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found that the fire had fully engulfed the structure, which was being used to store bottles, including glass and PET bottles.

“On arrival, we recognize that it was the whole Diamond Bar and fortunately there are no other structures exposures surrounding it and this bar is the only thing. It wasn’t occupied at the point in time and is destroyed by fire.”

A total of 13 firefighters, led by Division Officers Small, Bourne, and Angela Rivera, breached the locked gate to gain access to the burning building. Authorities also took steps to prevent further damage, as embers from the fire were falling onto a nearby vehicle.

“We actually placed a water tender on that side to assist with that damage. So deal with two things—exhibiting the fire and stopping the car from being ignited from any falling embers,” Bourne explained.

No injuries have been reported and investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
