Sergeant denies kicking man when he was held

Sergeant Rommel Downes said on Monday that he did not kick murder accused Richard Shamario Worrell on the day he was apprehended.

He was testifying under cross-examination by the defence team of King’s Counsel Michael Lashley and attorney Sade Harris.

Worrell, 34, of Derriston Road, Grazettes, and Andre Clyde Cave, 46, of Fairfield Cross Road, both in St Michael, are charged with murdering Josiah Clairmont, 22, of Orchid Drive, Husbands,
St James, on February 16, 2014.

Cave is being represented by Senior Counsel Andrew Pilgrim.
