Police have arrested and charged Richan Robert Waldron with the murder of Vere Hoyte, which occurred on January 9, 2025.
The 33-year-old resident of Back Ivy, St Michael, was formally charged by the Major Crime Unit of The Barbados Police Service with multiple offences stemming from the fatal incident, including the use of a firearm to commit an indictable offence and endangering the life of Omar Hamilton on the same day.
In a separate matter, the Criminal Investigations Department (Central) also charged Waldron with aggravated burglary in relation to a break-in at Lazarres Jewellery on February 19, 2025.
Waldron appeared before Magistrate Wayne Clarke in the District ‘E’ Court, where he was not required to plead to the charges of murder, use of a firearm, and endangering life.
He has been remanded to Dodds Prison until Monday, April 14, 2025.
The aggravated burglary charge was transferred to the District ‘A’ Court, where Waldron is expected to appear on Friday, March 21.
