Almost a month after fire ravaged the home of Katrina Medford in Ashbury, St George, accommodations are yet to be made for the 34-year-old mother and her four children.
The fire occurred on March 4. The family escaped unharmed but lost all they had. Medford received an outpouring of support from members of the public who also donated items.
When contacted yesterday, Medford said she the children were coping with the situation and were still receiving donations.
She said the hope was to eventually build a home for herself and the children, noting that they were looking for affordable materials.
After the fire, Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs Kirk Humphrey said the ministry, through the Resilience Unit was trying to find accommodation for the family for the next three months. (AJ)
