It could be difficult for some Barbadians to dine at their preferred restaurants for Christmas Day and Old Year’s Night as some have already recorded sold-out seating.

Those securing a booking will also have to shell out hefty sums as a check with some restaurateurs showed that dining on Old Year’s Night will be in the region of $450 and up. On the West Coast, some have raised their prices way above $1 000 per plate, with at least one of the top spots charging $2 250 for those preparing to ring in 2025.

Patrons dining at the high-end The Cliff restaurant in Derricks, St James, will be paying $2 250 per plate for a six-course menu, while to dine at its “sister” restaurant QP Bistro will cost $1 250 per plate for a five-course treat.

A source at both restaurants said that up to yesterday there was “still some [space] available” at QP but “limited seating” at The Cliff. (CH)
