Blue Box Cart is ready for the road.

They revealed their 2025 Grand Kadooment costumes on Friday during a band launch at Harbour Lights, Bay Street St Michael.

Their theme for this year is Fusion and will feature sections Nothern Lights, Sun & Sakura, Mystical Isles and Desert Oasis.

Band leader Sheena Gill shared the inspiration.

“Fusion is about the unity of different cultures and continents coming together. It’s a fusion of love and people,” she said.

She also promised that they would be ensuring their masqueraders receive value for their money.

“People want a more premium experience and they will definitely get their money’s worth. You can definitely expect upgraded experiences; a V-VIP premium truck, and lots of different events.”

“And you can build your own packages. You can choose big feathers, small feathers and build on to what you have – which we never did before,” she added.

Although there are numerous challenges associated with staging a band, she said they love the culture.

This year they are hoping to cater to about 750 to 800 masqueraders.

She also said they were eagerly anticipating returning to the Kadooment Day route which was introduced in 2024.

Last year masqueraders paraded from the Helicopter Pad across the Princess Alice Highway, Harbour Road, President Kennedy Drive, Eagle Hall, and Black Rock and ended at the Mighty Grynner Highway.

“We loved the new route. The only issue last year was the late start time. We started late because of the issues everybody had but we loved the new route,” she added.  (TG)
