Grantley Adams International Airport was a hive of activity on Thursday afternoon as scores of Barbadians living abroad made their way back home for the Christmas season.

The Arrivals Hall buzzed with excitement as family members and loved ones exchanged warm embraces, while red caps weaved through the crowd with loaded trolleys and taxi drivers eagerly assisted with luggage.

For many returnees, this homecoming represents more than just a holiday visit – it’s a chance to reconnect with the warmth of Barbadian culture, both literally and figuratively.

“What I miss most about home is the food and the warm weather,” shared Rosette Hoyte, who flew in from Missouri, United States. “It’s always rainy or extremely cold in the States, so it’s nice to experience some warmth again.” (DS)
