Second suspected drowning, victim went to Heywoods Beach alone Loop Barbados

Police have reported a second possible drowning today, Monday, September 18, 2023.

Police Public Information Officer Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss confirmed the incident to Loop News.

According to reports to Loop, the second victim is a 43-year-old woman.

She was visiting Heywoods Beach, Speightstown, St Peter, by herself, when the incident occurred.

Police responded to the scene and are conducting investigations. The Heywoods Beach, located along the northwest coast, was cordoned off by police.

Her death is the second suspected drowning for the day. Earlier, the body of an 80-year-old* man was recovered in the vicinity of Rascals at Brandons Beach, St Michael, to the southwest of the island.
