A group of Haitians evicted last night from a four-bedroom house at Bonnetts, Brittons Hill, St Michael, are calling on authorities for help.

Around 1 a.m., former Government Senator and Chairman of the National Assistance Board (NAB), Pastor Dr David Durant was called to rescue the young men, ages 21 to 36.

Durant, who took the young men to his church where they spent the rest of the night, told Barbados TODAY that the Haitians are in need of temporary accommodation and funds to help purchase return tickets.

The young men said they had come to Barbados in search of a better life.

However, they said they found no jobs and have exhausted their limited finances.
