Gas thief gets suspended sentence


A St Michael man who stole 16 gallons of gasoline from his work place was ordered to pay restitution and given a three-month sentence which was suspended for a year, when he appeared at No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today.

Albert Nathaniel White, 38, of Ifill Road, Flagstaff, pleaded guilty to siphoning the gas from TIAMI Catamaran Cruises on November 25, 2018. According to facts of the case, White, who is known to the court, was seen on company’s security cameras placing the $248 worth of fuel in the three transparent containers. Before handing down the sentence, Magistrate Sandra Rawlins told White that he “betrayed” the trust of his employers.
