“Let’s get physical”


The Massy Foundation continues to cement its relationship with the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Barbados (HSFB) by supporting the creation of a logo for its “Yute Gym” initiative.

The logo project, which was designed by BCB Communications – the in-house advertising agency for Massy, is part of a wider arrangement of support from the Massy Foundation to this programme.

As a sub-brand of the HSFB logo, the new emblem blends some elements of the parent (HSFB) logo with a more youthful and playful application suited to the target audience and aims to translate a message of getting physical.

At a brief ceremony to unveil the logo recently, Chief Executive Officer of the HSFB Fiona Anthony noted that the event was a landmark occasion for the organization as it cements the importance that the HSFB has been placing on initiatives aimed at reducing overweight and obesity in children.

“We really want to commend the Massy Foundation for its support in this initiative so that we have the funding and the ability to really advance this intervention programme. It provides the longevity for the programme, not only for children now but children in the future,” Anthony stated.

In her remarks, Gillian Corbin, a representative of the Massy Foundation and an account manager with BCB Communications, thanked the HSFB for giving BCB the opportunity to design the logo. She told the audience which included representatives of the HSFB and the Massy Foundation, Yute Gym participants and parents as well as other stakeholders, that it should serve as a strategic tool for the HSFB in building the programme’s brand identity as well as in conveying its core message.

“As it relates to this partnership, I wish to reiterate that the Massy Foundation wholeheartedly endorses and supports the establishment of the ‘Yute’ Gym, which is central to the HSFB’s cardiovascular screening/fitness programme for children and youth… as we clearly understand the repercussions of childhood obesity, which, if left unchecked, can result in multiplied risks for the individual and the country,” Corbin noted.  (PR)
