Barbados is among 130 countries invited by the People’s Republic of China to participate in the expo and demonstrate, among other things, their trade environment, advantageous industries and special products, while also engaging in promotions, exhibitions, discussions and exchanges.

Like the others, Barbados has also been invited to be part of China’s efforts at building “a new platform for trade and economic cooperation with all parties to safeguard the multilateral trading system and economic globalization, and promote the growth of the world economy so that it will become more open, inclusive, balanced and beneficial to all”.

The Minister will be accompanied to the CIIE by Permanent Secretary in his Ministry, Terry Bascombe and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of International Business and Industry, Sonia Foster.

The delegation returns to the island the following week.
