A 26-year-old man remains hospitalized in serious condition after falling from the back of a truck during a motorcade held yesterday by Democratic Labour Party representative for St George South Senator Dr Esther Byer Suckoo.

The accident occurred around 4:45 p.m. on Monday along Farm Road, St George as the motorcade was returning to Byer Suckoo’s constituency office.

The victim, Omari Jabari Bynoe, of Glebe Land, St George, was one of several passengers reportedly sitting on the railing on the right side of a white Toyota Hiace pick-up truck, owned and driven by 57-year-old Ken Forde, of Sargeant Road, Ellerton, St George, before he lost his balance and fell.

The driver immediately stopped the truck and Dr Byer Suckoo, who was travelling a short distance behind, rendered first aid assistance to him at the scene.

Bynoe was subsequently transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance where medical personnel say he remains in a deep unconscious state with traumatic brain injury.
