Anglican Bishop reacts to recent deaths

The Anglican Bishop of Barbados, Dr John Holder, has joined with Barbadians in extending condolences to the families of the four young women who lost their lives in last Sunday’s horrific accident on Two Mile Hill, St Michael.

Dr Holder has also offered prayers for the family of 23-year-old Nakisha Shepherd — the lone survivor of last Sunday’s fatal car crash, which also claimed the lives of 23-year-old Shameka Shepherd, 22-year-old Shakira Shepherd, 25-year-old Waveney Johnson and 18-year-old Carey Brathwaite.

The island’s top cleric further extended heartfelt condolences to the family of 75-year-old Marcelle Smith, who has been missing since October 13 and is believed to be dead, as well as to relatives of the late Charles Harding who died of a heart attack on Saturday night at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Marcelle Smith has been missing since October 13.

Harding, the former editor of the Anglican Church’s newsletter, will be buried on Monday at the Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens following a funeral service at the St Matthias Church, Christ Church where he worshiped.
