Nine Shiite pilgrims from Lebanon kidnapped in Syria more than a year ago were freed on Friday as part of a negotiated hostage release that could lead to the release of two Turkish pilots held in Lebanon, officials said. The Lebanese were part of a group of 11 hostages taken by a rebel faction in northern Syria in May 2012 while they were on a religious pilgrimage.
