Brewer Sees Latin America Profits Soar


News Americas, LONDON, England, Fri. July 22, 2011: Seems Latin Americans can’t get enough beer.

The world’s second- biggest brewer reported first-quarter sales growth that beat estimates this week, led by gains in largely Latin America.

SABMiller Plc (SAB), a London-based company, said organic lager volume rose 6 percent in Latin America, higher than in any of its other regions globally, including Europe.

Total organic revenue rose 7 percent at constant currency rates, helped by selective price increases, the company said.
