U.S. Lauds Antigua Ahead Of Independence


CaribWorldNews, WASHINGTON, D.C., Sat. Oct. 30, 2010: The U.S. is lauding the people of Antigua and Barbuda as they get ready to mark 29 years of independence on November 1st.

`The strong economic, cultural, and historic ties that bind our nations are further strengthened by our shared commitment to promoting democracy and human rights,` the State Department said in a statement yesterday.

`Our partnership on issues of regional concern is helping build a brighter future for all our people and the entire Caribbean. I wish you a joyous Independence Day celebration and look forward to continuing our strong friendship.`

The U.S. and Antigua has yet to settle their online gambling trade dispute.
