Trinidad-Born Mother Deemed Killer Of Kids

CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. July 30, 2010: A 30-year-old Trinidad-born mother with a debt of close to $9,000, has been deemed the killer of her four children.

New York City medical examiner`s office on Thursday morning said autopsy results show that Leisa Jones killed her four children before taking her own life in a fiery blaze. Jones is believed to have slashed the throats of her daughters Brittney, 10, and Melonie, 7, as well as her son C.J., born Romoy Ramond, 14.

Police had initially claimed that the murder-suicide on last Thursday was caused by C.J. but yesterday`s findings also placed the teen on the homicide list. Two 2-year-old brother, Jermaine Sinclair, died from smoke inhalation and burns, in the fire believed to have been set by his mother.
Jones was also determined to have died of smoke inhalation, indicating she was alive when the fire was set, and her death was ruled a suicide.

C.J.`s father, Earlston Raymond, who lives in Jamaica, had said early on that he believed the mother was the killer. But as of last night, the NYPD did not officially declare Jones the killer even though a fragmented note with the words `am sorry` that was found in another room was written by Jones, forensics have so far determined.  Her stomach also was found with pills, suggesting she tried to overdose.

Jones was working as a security guard while also going to beauty school and living in government subsidized housing in a depressed community in Staten Island and trying to raise four children.
